Summer Camp For Cycling Sport

Cycling Sport is a high strength and extreme endurance sport, which is popular in America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, as also some other countries, such as Russia, Korea, Japan, Thailand etc. This sport is almost unknown in our country in its present form and dimensions. Green Plant Bicycle Riders' Association and the M.P. Amateur Cycling Association have long felt the need for popularizing and promoting cycling sport. 

With this objective in view, GPBRA and MPACA conceived the idea of organizing a Summer Camp for Cycling Sport in association with the State Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs of M.P. In furtherance of this objective GPBRA and MPACA organized a summer camp for Bicycle Sport from 1st to 31st May, 2012 at Mountain Cycle Track, Link Road No.3, Bhopal.  The camp was open to all children, whether school going or otherwise. It was also open to grown ups, who were interested in cycling.  The Sports & Youth Affairs Department provided services of a physical trainer.  Wide publicity was made in Bhopal and surrounding areas, to inform the children and people. 

The camp attracted children and youth in large number.  About 110 - 150 participants attended the camp continuously for one month. Besides, physical training and cycling techniques other activities, such as rock climbing, boating and trekking were also organized during the period of camp.  At the end of camp, a closing function was organized, which was preceded by Mountain Cycling Races for different age groups.  Winners were given suitable prizes.  The camp was a grand success.
